IMG_2159To pick a favourite part of my week is a task I am just truly unable to complete. There are too many beautiful views, crazy adventures and funny stories to simply choose one and I am confident enough to speak for the group when I say this week has been incredible. Whakapapa (pronounced phakapapa) has been our home for a week now. We started off roughing it at a retro hostel, And we were rescued the next day, enough groceries for a week in hand, and taken to our cabin-like new temporary home. We began with some group strengthening activities facilitated by Claire, our lovely leader at BMAC. Not our last though; we spent the next week mentally and physically supporting and challenging each other and learning about one another in unique ways. We were thrown into our exploration of the National Park the same day by caving in jumpsuits and abseiling down a cliff. It definitely started our time here on an exciting note because water rafting, mountain biking, hiking, cliff diving, rock climbing, skiing, tea sipping, journaling, star gazing and mountaineering followed. Every night we have a tradition we started at the farm of going around and saying our highs (favourite part of the day). lows (our not-so favourite part) and our heroes (someone who positively effected our day). So, to end my blog post I would like to share my high, low and hero for the trip so far. My high is a waterfall I experienced on our last day. We took solo hikes and ended up quickly dunking at the bottom. My low is the fact it does rain here, often. And my hero is all of you. The people who allowed and supported us to take this trip and to experience the world because after the third week I can express my gratitude for every moment here.
