Farewell Walkabout

“Travel leaves you speechless, and then turns you into a story teller,” said the famous Arab wanderer, Ibn Battuta.

There’s a certain sense of quiet that fills you on those first steps back onto familiar ground, back home. It’s as if there’s a space opened up within you, and only silence and reflection can fill it. This is a good thing.

For the past three months we’ve all grown together as friends and family, learning more about each other then we ever though possible, and caring for each other through the good times and the hard times.

This space exists within all of us now, representing the shared bonds and connections that were forged so strongly throughout our trip. Now its our job to fill it back up, like a kiti basket, with the values, visions, and inspiration that this journey evoked for us.

We hope that this goes without saying, but we couldn’t possibly thank each of you enough for being the engaged, thoughtful, intelligent, kind, and mature individuals you all are. It has been an incredible honor to serve as your leaders and friends throughout this adventure, and we couldn’t imagine a better group of humans to have spent this with. Suffice it to say, all of you were the best teachers WE could have ever asked for.

As you continue to grow from this experience, our hope is that you each find a seed of inspiration from the assortment of amazing contacts, projects, and places that we’ve been blessed to visit. Whether its learning more about indigenous cultures, in your area, permaculture, sustainable living, and food consciousness, or environmental conservation, we are beyond confident that you each will go on to do incredible things in the world.

YOU are the leaders now!

With immense love and endless gratitude,

Sy & Lols
