Farewell!

Hard to believe three months has gone by! With teary eyes we said goodbye to the people that has become inseparable to our wellbeing.

If you sit down with any member of our Hongi group, we will be telling you stories for days. This trip turned out to be a first time for many things. Whether it was first time away from home, first time in New Zealand/Fiji/Australia, first time caving/canyoning/waka(ing)/scuba diving, first time seeing a baby seal/dolphin/koala/kangaroo, first time interacting with Maori/Fijian/Aboriginal culture, first time living with 13 people 24/7. The inside jokes and lingo are such an essence of our days that we have legitimate concerns that we may have forgotten how to communicate with people outside of our group.

Thanks Zack, Teddy, Tara, Bronson, G, Abi, Kate, Kevin, Stevie, Mel, Hannah for showing up each day and doing so with a positive attitude. It has been an incredible journey filled with laughter. We are pleased to see how much you have grown each in your own ways and we are proud of you for what you have achieved. Remember all the communities you’ve been part of and all the relationships you’ve built. There are families in rural Fiji thinking of you in this moment, brothers and sisters on the maraes in New Zealand that you could return to visit, and inspiring environmental projects in Australia that are grateful for your contributions.

Stay in touch. We can’t wait to see what you will do with your life now that you have this experience under your belt. Sky is the limit.

All in always!
