Exploring Vibrant Entebbe

By Yina, Elle, and Finn

On day one, after 22 hours of grueling travel, we finally made it to our hostel close to 1:00 am. Despite being exhausted, we stayed up even later to get to know each other. The hostel’s been really nice, especially the “refreshing” cold showers. Breakfast was better than we expected. Everyone in the group has been awesome and getting along as well as can be expected.

Our leaders, Matt and Michelle, have been great. They’ve been very comforting and helpful with the transition, and taking us through Entebbe. The city is vibrant and colorful, even down to the red dirt. And these elephant pants are amazing—we all have a pair.

Everyone’s sweaty and happy down here on the equator, and even though it’s only been three days, it feels like weeks (in a good way!).
