Bula Bula From Mango Bay

 Bula (hello) to all!
The FANZ Walkabout group is safe and sound in the Mango bay resort nestled within the Tadrawai  Valley, so all of those worried parents can take a big sigh of relief. We are currently begining day four of our jouney in the South Pacific and what an eventful four days it has been! After crossing the international dateline we landed in Nadi to be greeted by a gorgeous sunrise and local music.
The Walkabout group traveld to The Mango Bay resort via shuttle bus as we  treated all five senses to something new. We saw local students, smelled island cuisine, tasted the thick Fijian air, heard the domestic music, all while absorbing the new sights to be seen.During our first day at the Resort the students became acquainted with our simple yet cozy dorms, the luscious coast, and of course each other.
Since then we have had the incredible opportunity to travel to the small city of Sigatoka where we bought sulus (sarongs), explored the local farmers market, bartered, and were graciously enlighted by a Hindu priest  in the city’s newest and largest temple.
Following that, Colin Martin organized a trip to a Union Rugby Championship. Go Nadro go! We ended the night with a fantastic show of fire dancing performed by the locals. We are currently resting after our adventureous inagural days in Fiji. Tomorrow we will travel to Rambulu, where we will meet our homestay families and begin our services overseas. Untill then, more beach volley ball and fresh fruit!

Vinaka (thank you) & mothe (goodbye) from the Walkabout Tribe,
