Safe travels, Buen Viaje, Safari Njema, Subh Yatra, Kia pai te haere, Bon Voyage

The first 7 of our cohort of 25 Latitudes students have already begun their placements in the far off corners of the earth!  So far we have students in Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Nicaragua, Kenya, Mexico, and Uganda….doing different projects ranging from farming to yoga to working with kids in the slums of Kenya.  Pretty amazing opportunities that these students have taken on.

And though the skies here in Portland are gray and rainy, we sit here happy and continuously inspired by our students all over the world making a positive difference.  In the coming months each student will be posting blog entries that reflect upon their experiences on their focused volunteer placements.  Stay tuned for the interesting stories and photos to document their adventures!

Thank you to all of students, parents, friends, family members, and partner organizations that continue to support all of us here at Carpe…We are forever grateful!

…the next post will be from the field, so get excited.

“To be fully alive, fully human and completely awake is to be continually thrown out of the nest.  To live fully is t be always in no-man’s-land, to experience each moment as completely new and fresh.  To live is to be willing to die over and over again.”  -Pema Chodron
