Nkula goes home…

Welcome home, ladies! We hope you are enjoying the cold weather and snow! Your family, the food, and all the things you missed (good peanut butter…) It’s a sad and happy day at the same time. For the last 2 maybe even 3 weeks, all the girls could talk about was what was going to be their first meal when they got back in the States. There was a lot of Mexican food mentioned (Chipotle in particular), sushi was a must – some ordered for it as soon as they got off the plane. Even one was probably more excited to see her dog before any meals! Yes, they were definitely excited to go see family and friends back at home and eat all the food they missed, but it was also a sad day, for now they were departing their newly formed family they made these past 3 months.

Three months? Is it really over? Hard to believe. We (Colin & Mandy) woke up this morning and we didn’t see the lovely smiles we have been seeing for the past 3 months. No millions of cups of tea on the table. It was definitely different.

We said goodbye to the girls at the airport last night. It was a bittersweet goodbye to say the least. Each of them wrote each other a letter, and we played one last game of Pica Pica, where everybody at the airport were watching. We definitely were the new form of entertainment. We had Pica Pica going on, Mandy doing handstands in her amazing orange suit, Colin reading posted blogs as if he were from Jacksonville, Mississippi, and some sushi roll action. I don’t think too many people were actually watching the nearby television screen.

Kwahere kwa sasa. Bahati nzuri na safari! Tumefarahi kukufuhamu.
