Finishing touches

We never thought this day would come. After all our crazy absurd adventures and experiences, we are actually down to our last few hours in Southeast Asia. Its hard to even grasp all that we have been through. From the amazing bonds with the many locals we’ve established, to the sights of Angkor Wat and everything in between, we have created lifelong lasting memories and friendships.

Our time in Vietnam has been short but memorable. Ho Chi Minh city is a hustling and bustling metropolis filled with lots of history, delicious foods, crazy night life, and professional mad men breaking all the rules of the road. While here we explored the Vietnam War museum, which opened our eyes to the horrible atrocities which have taken place in this part of the world not too long ago. We then explored the Chu Chi tunnels, which was an extremely interesting experience. We all learned more about the harsh living conditions and military tactic these soldiers experienced throughout the war in a few hours, than we have throughout our entire high school career.

Our second to last day here, we had some fun in an epic water park that definitely would not pass regulations back in the United States. To say the least we all had an amazing time together there with no injuries to report.

Its sad to think that we just finished sharing our last lunch together as a group for what very well may be the last time in our lives. We are all filled with excitement, sadness, and anxiety. The challenges don’t end here, however, readjusting to life back in the United States will be a whole new culture shock. We have all learned an extraordinary amount here and will all be returning as stronger, more confident, and better global citizens.

This is us signing off; see you in 46 hours.
