Hola from Kate and Julian!

Saludos, Team Inti and loved ones!

Greetings from Portland, Oregon, where the entire Carpe Diem Education Headquarters is buzzing with excitement in preparation for our adventurous fall semester in Ecuador and Peru! In a short week from now we will be settling in to our new home in the land of Inti, the Incan Sun God. Soon enough we will all be caring for banana trees on the Ecuadorian coast, floating a canoe in the Amazon basin, living with local families, eating the more than 4,000 varieties of potatoes that are grown in the Andean highlands, and building a mobile, heart-centered community.

We are all about to step into unfamiliar places, be immersed in a foreign language, and adjust to being in new cultures. The challenges ahead are inevitable, but it is through these challenges and with the support of our Inti family that we will experience personal growth and transformation.

As we all prepare to leave the United States, take some time this week to bask in the beauty of your special places and your special people. Rest your body. Clarify your intentions for your time abroad. Start setting some personal goals for the program. Get plenty of sleep. Don’t buy that extra pair of socks – you’ve probably already packed enough (and you can always get what you need in-country).

We are excited to meet you at the LAX airport. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about meeting up in the airport, packing, the program itinerary, or anything else.

Hasta pronto! Check your email before you head to LAX for a final logistics update 🙂
