Friends and Family,
It has been quiet an adventure over the last few days trying to get to Uganda! A few setbacks have required the group to temporarily return to Kigali, but they will be back on the road first thing tomorrow morning on a bus for Kampala.
Because of the unanticipated circumstances, the itinerary over the next couple weeks will be adapted to meet the changing needs of the group on the ground. Instead of volunteering with Edirisa Organization in the southern part of the country, the group will now continue on to Jinja where they will begin their volunteer project with Soft Power Education. As they make their way east, we plan for the group to stay in Kampla for a day or two; to breakup the long journey overland, and to also get the opportunity to explore the city a little.
While the last several days have been a challenge for the group, everyone is doing well and still in good spirits! Stay tuned for more updates from the group when the arrive in Uganda…
