The past 36 hours have probably been the biggest rollercoaster of emotions in my life. Starting the morning on the 9th off in the park for our final group activities. Kalie put together little gifts for everyone of things that reminder her of each person which was one of the sweetest things. Alana lead a closing meditation where we took the time to reflect and appreciate each person on the trip. Then, we all took some time to think about words of wisdom we think we have gained over these past three months that have influenced us. On our way back from the park, we met Kalie’s mom really putting into prospective for the rest of us what it will be like to connect back with our parents in just 16 hours.

After arriving to the airport and checking in, the goodbyes were a lot harder than I ever could have anticipated. We said goodbye to Syd, Alana, Tanner, and Kalie. The rest of us walked through security now realizing that the trip really was coming to a close. After our flight to Auckland, we reconnected to our first stop on our three month journey as well as saying the hard goodbye to our two incredible leaders, Ryan and Cheridyn. Now just a small group of eight, we got to our gate for our flight to LAX. Although it was hard to say goodbye to six members of our family, luckily the eight of us will still have a little time to connect together while we are all staying in different parts of LA for the week.

Goodbyes are never easy but I know that I have 13 incredible people that have made a tremendous impact on my life and I will be forever grateful for this experience and for these beautiful people in my life. We will all see each other soon and can’t wait for the many more amazing memories with Walkabout Fall 2015.
